Lettuce - Butterhead

Our customers can choose from many varieties of butterhead, iceberg, leaf and cos/romaine lettuces. The common features of them all in PROFI series are:
- good health (resistance to most important NL and BL races)
- good field-holding ability
- suitability for medium-term storage
We produce our lettuce seeds in Chile, where the optimal combination of high altitude, plenty of sunshine and low humidity typically result in seed lots with superior germinition and seed health. The seeds are produced in protected net houses and certified as 100% ´´LMV free´´. We offer not only NORMAL and PRECISION seeds but also pills/pellets. Seed pelleting of some of our varieties is made by the Dutch company INCOTEC. We offer ,, Split Pill´´ 2.75 mm pills. You can find our pills offered in our price list for the current season.
Confidently like ´´The Magnificent seven´´ comes on the scene our new brand lettuces: butternut variety SMARAGDUS, KAMENEX, SAFIRUS, TITANUS, HAKON, SATURION and Batavia type lettuce - BATAVUS. All seven varieties are characterized by high resistance to bolting - they are suitable for all year growing. Next common feature is excellent health condition including resistance to Bremia Lactuca and also high tolerant to rot. New lettuces have strong but crispy leaves and they are tolerant to transport and storability.

BREMEX
The earliest variety for indoor forcing. It gives firm well covered heads with weight about 175 grams. The leaves are smooth, shiny light green. Bremex has good bolting tolerance and resistance to Bremia.
PS: We have tested BREMEX for an open field summer growing and the results have shown a high tolerance to bolting. So, BREMEX is very suitable for indoor forcing and for summer sowing in the open field.
SMARAGDUS
A very early variety with small heads. Ideal for greenhouses and all types of indoor growing. All year round open field growing is also possible. SMARAGDUS is shiny yellow - green with slightly blistered leaf, 150-200 grams attractive sturdy heads with good storability.
KAMENEX
An early butterhead with sturdy green heads which hold well. Heads, 250-300 grams, are well-packed with smooth leaves. Universal lettuce for indoor and open field growing. Upright leaves increase its resistance to rot. A follower of our CITRIN variety
SAFIRUS
An early shiny green butterhead with slightly blistered leaves. Dense heads, 300-350 grams are of an excellent butterhead quality. Widely adapted lettuce for indoor and open field growing - especially for spring and autumn growing. High tolerance to bolting, a follower of our SAFIR variety.
MARS
Confirmed, very fast growing butterhead intended for field year-round growing. The firm full dense heads are full in size (330-350 grams) and well-covered with shiny light green leaves. MARS is tolerant to both cold and hot conditions. Widely adapted not only for spring and autumn but even for summer growing.

PS: This is the variety that was chosen for the crew of the first space mission to the planet Mars. Lettuce MARS would be a source of vitamins and fiber for astronauts not only in space but also after landing on the red planet.
TITANUS
A mid-early upright, light green butterhead with smooth texture. Full size heads, 350-400 grams heads with excellent flavor and good storability. Ideal variety for spring and autumn field growing.
MERKURION
A nice mid-early variety with large heads (about 380 grams) and a good field standing ability. Suitable for year-round cropping as it shows high tolerance to both hot and cold conditions. Leaves are smooth, thick and have an attractive light green color.
HAKON
A mid-late butterhead with large sturdy heads, 350-400 grams. Lettuce Hakon is yellow-green with slightly blistered leaves. It is adapted for all year growing, including summer and autumn plantings. It’s very tolerant to rot. Hakon is a follower of our MARATON variety.
SATURION
The optimal variety for a large family dinner. The heads of this butterhead weigh up to 600 grams. SATURION is a nice light green variety with smooth leaves. It is suitable for all year open field growing including summer plantings. Good storability, follower of the varieties MARS and MARSALUS. Nice lettuce also for processing industry
CERVANEK
This red-green butterhead lettuce is ideal for outdoor growing in the spring and autumn. Its blistered heads are firm and heavy (about 360 g). High tolerance to low and high temperatures and good tolerance to bolting. Red lettuce with excellent flavor and texture.
HUMIL
This lettuce is suitable for overwintering in conditions of Central Europe and areas with the similar climates. Direct field sowing in the beginning of September or planting in the first week of October. Even strong frosts will not destroy well-rooted plants. HUMIL recover already in early spring and thus provides very early harvests of slightly blistered ligh green heads. HUMIL is definitelly not the most uniform butterhead...but it is certainly one of the tastiest.
